CONTENTS

You will learn the principles and mechanisms of topic-oriented authoring, following the DITA information model. You create valid DITA topics of various information types and collect these topics in a prototype DITA map, ready for publication.

You use various DITA-aware editors, such as DITA-FMx, XMetaL and oXygen XML Editor.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course, you will:

  • Know the principles of topic-oriented authoring
  • Know the DITA content units
  • Be able to create topics of various information types
  • Be familiar with the main elements of the DITA information model

BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP (BYOL)

You bring your own laptop to class. In class, we install the required software and you do hands-on exercises on your laptop. After class, you can get additional guidance from one of Scripto's DITA coaches, if needed.
