Lionbridge Joins DITA Technical Committee

Lionbridge Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: LIOX - News), today announced that it has joined the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) working group as a member of the technical committee. As a committee member, Lionbridge will work closely with the group to ensure that the emerging standard provides an appropriate methodology for companies that publish content globally to easily translate materials from source language to target languages.

In support of the mission of the working group, Lionbridge has also released a whitepaper titled "DITA in Localization: Five steps to ensure successful localization using the DITA framework." The paper outlines best practices for organizations to follow when implementing DITA, and five steps to take during the DITA roll-out process that will optimize the customization for future content translation efforts. Organizations who publish content in multiple languages will benefit from the practical information contained in the paper, designed to assist with their DITA implementation.

The paper is available today to the public and can be found online at http://www.lionbridge.com/kc/DITA.

"As the global leader in localization services and a significant outsourced content developer ourselves, it is imperative that Lionbridge stays current with content creation standards work," said Kevin Bolen, chief marketing officer, Lionbridge. "The momentum behind DITA is remarkable. As the standard continues to evolve we will participate in its development, and work with the group to ensure that organizations are able to easily translate content developed using the DITA standard."
