At their well-attended presentation at the DITA Europe Conference 2009, Professor Sissi Closs and Robert Hinesley of Comet Computer GmbH demonstrated how different authoring tools can support DITA today.
They compared the use of DITA in Author-it, Flare and FrameMaker (in combination with RoboHelp). The advantages and stumbling blocks of the individual tools within DITA were explained using examples, and solutions for a smooth implementation were demonstrated.
Afterwards, the experts participated in a lively debate about the use of DITA in projects.
Comet was one of the first companies in Germany to recognize the potential of DITA as a standard in technical documentation. Since 2004, we have successfully used DITA to create manuals, training material, and online help.
