DITA Expert Keith Schengili-Roberts Joins IXIASOFT

Montreal, Canada, September 16, 2014 – IXIASOFT, a global leader in the component content management systems (CCMS) marketplace, announced today that veteran DITA expert Keith Schengili-Roberts has joined their team as a DITA Information Architect. In his new role, Schengili-Roberts will act as an IXIASOFT evangelist and represent the company within the DITA community.

“We’re extremely pleased to bring another high-caliber DITA expert onto our team. We’ve worked with Keith Schengili-Roberts for nearly 10 years now – first, as a customer, then as a consultant, and now as one of our team members. We trust that his extensive experience with DITA and our signature product, DITA CMS, will contribute to all aspects of our company: from sales & marketing, to product development and customer services,” said Eric Bergeron, CEO of IXIASOFT. “Keith’s passion for and proficiency in DITA reinforces our expertise and commitment to the DITA standard, while providing beneficial insights to both our team and customers.”

Schengili-Roberts has more than 25 years of experience in the documentation industry as both a technical writer and documentation architect. He is well known within the DITA community thanks to his website ditawriter.com, an independently run site focused on DITA content, resources and best practices. Schengili-Roberts has trained documentation teams in the U.K., India, China, and across the United States on how to efficiently use DITA, content modeling, and localization processes. He has also trained information architects on what to expect when moving to the DITA standard.

As an international speaker and educator, Schengili-Roberts has presented at conferences around the world discussing DITA best practices, including DITA Europe 2010, Congility 2011, and was the keynote speaker at Content Management Strategies/DITA North America 2012.

“I’m honored to be a new member of the IXIASOFT team. As a previous customer and consultant, I had the opportunity to work with IXIASOFT as they built the very first dedicated DITA CMS back in 2005 when the standard was just released. I’ve known Eric Bergeron, IXIASOFT’s CEO, and his team for awhile now and was more than ready to jump on board when the opportunity presented itself,” said Schengili-Roberts. “IXIASOFT has contributed tremendous value to our industry and I’m looking forward to what we can continue to build together.”

Schengili-Roberts is also a part-time professor on Information Architecture and Information Management at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Education and at Durham College’s School of Justice & Emergency Services. He has also taught content management, web, enterprise and component content management systems, as well as PHP and MySQL. Schengili-Roberts previously worked with AMD (ATI), Mekon and Yellow Pencil.
