Inmedius® DITA Storm™ Developer v2.0 Released
Web-Based, Embeddable XML Editor Integrates into Virtually Any Web Application or CMS
Pittsburgh, PA – March 18, 2008 - Inmedius, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of Inmedius DITA Storm™ Developer version 2.0. The full featured, embeddable XML editing solution enables authors to quickly and easily create and edit DITA-compliant content in WYSIWYG mode -- regardless of their DITA or XML expertise. As easy to use as a word or text processing application, authors are able to create and edit content in a familiar environment. The Web-based editor is entirely implemented in JavaScript™ and simply embeds into virtually any Web application or Content Management System (CMS), ensuring the entire DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) documentation lifecycle is supported.
“The demand for Web-based content editing continues to grow exponentially,” stated Alex Karezin, Senior Product Architect, Inmedius, Inc. “At the forefront of innovation, DITA Storm Developer delivers convenience and usability that only an integrated, online XML editor can offer.”
The intuitive, context-sensitive environment ensures that content is created with speed and accuracy, while eliminating the need for on-demand validation. DITA Storm Developer is 100% browser-based, requiring no timely or costly client installations or updates, and is completely customizable for a superior DITA user experience. With its flexible configuration, developers customize the documents’ visual representation and the final information structure may be specialized to adhere to specific organization or industry requirements.
“Developer is the first offering in the new Inmedius DITA Storm Suite, with four distinct software solutions, each designed to meet specific organization requirements,” explained Gary L. Schaffer, President and CEO, Inmedius. “If you need a simple, easy to use DITA editor, or require an editor within a full-featured management tool, the Suite offers a spectrum of solutions to fit your needs.”

About DITA An XML-based, end-to-end architecture for creating, producing, and delivering topic-oriented, information-typed content that can be reused and single-sourced in multiple ways. DITA consists of a set of design principles for creating “information-typed” modules at a topic level, and for using that content in delivery modes such as online help and product support portals on the Web. The development and promotion of DITA is led by OASIS® (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information), of which Inmedius is a Sponsor. Learn more at www.oasis-open.org
