Marilyn Rogers, former Principal Information Developer at Borland Software, will provide an introduction to agile software methodologies, and describe how to apply agile methodologies to implement an enterprise wide conversion of documentation to DITA. She will discuss how the Cross Documentation Architecture Team collaborated with the Information Services team, product teams, management, and Information Developers located in several locations in the United States and Austria. In addition, she will discuss how to use a top-down approach to create an agile release plan to complete a successful conversion to DITA from documentation sourced in several formats.

Marilyn Rogers is a Senior Information Developer with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Journalism from The University of Kansas. Marilyn is employed at Dovetail Software where she develops and writes online help for Dovetail's Customer Service and Support software. She previously held positions in Austin, TX and in the Silicon Valley at Borland Software, Remedy Software, Sybase Incorporated, and Informix Software. As a Principal Information Developer and Team Lead at Borland Software, Marilyn acted as chairperson for the Cross-Documentation Architecture Team. With the help of the Information Services team, the architecture team led a successful conversion to DITA for multiple teams across Borland by using agile methodologies. Marilyn has extensive experience with agile SCRUM methodology, lean documentation, software development lifecycle, DITA, XML, HTML, wiki, GUI design, usability, and single-sourcing.
