Revision of DITA Users International Organization from Thu, 2007-10-11 20:45
DITA Users help one another become topic-based authors.
We are an international membership organization (400 members from 21 countries) that includes
- Individuals learning DITA.
- Organizations moving to single-source authoring and multi-channel publishing.
- Vendors of XML Editors and XML Content Management Systems.
The website provides members with individual workspaces for their DITA documents.
Members can share their workspaces with others to collaborate or to facilitate mentoring.
A member directory facilitates locating other members in your geographical area.
Members get discounts on major DITA conferences, tutorials and workshops, and the DITA Report. Savings on just one of these more than offsets annual membership fees.
The DITA Users website is the anchor site in a network of DITA support sites providing resources for DITA.
Each of our websites is optimized for some community-oriented function.
DITA Users - helping members get started with topic-based authoring using the web-based DITA Storm editor, the DITA Open Toolkit on the server, and a personal workspace folder on the web.
DITA Infocenter - the DITA architectural and language specifications, and the OT User Guide, in an Eclipse Help format.
DITA News - a blog aggregator, a mailing list, and comprehensive resources syndicated to other sites, including dozens of DITA-related products and services.
DITA Newsletter - our monthly newsletter on DITA.
DITA Blog - a group blog for DITA information developers (based on WordPress).
DITA Wiki - resources in a format that encourages comments and discussions (based on MediaWiki).
and a couple of other sites to come soon, including
DITA Tutor - a set of self-paced and instructor-led DITA Tutorials (based on a Moodle LMS).
