Revision of UPDATE on the RealWorld DITA 2009 Conference in Raleigh NC (Sept 2009) from Fri, 2009-07-31 23:28

Those of you who have attended our Raleigh DITA conferences before know that we work to set a high quality schedule with technical speakers and relevant topics.  If you know me, you know that I strive to produce events that help users move up from their current level by building an opportunity for them to learn from the right presentation collection and through at-event peer networking.

Regarding The RealWorld DITA 2009 Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina USA, WE HAVE AN IMPORTANT UPDATE:  The conference has been listed as 3 days of DITA presentations. Regular rate was $695.  Edu rates are $250 for staff and $100 for students.  Above And Beyond Learning knows that the economy makes conference attendance difficult. We realize that despite the reasonableness of the conference registration rate, some companies and individuals just basically cannot spend $695 plus three nights of travel. So, we are doing the following:

  • Dropping the conference rate to $450 for a two-day conference; Edu rates stay the same as above.  Dates are now September 14-15, 2009 as the third day (Sept 16) has been mashed into the other two longger days.
  • Allowing registrants to sign up for either or both days at half the appropriate rate.
  • Providing discounts for multiple attendees (2-3 registered/paid together are $100 discount per person; 4+ r/p together are $200 discount per person)
  • Allowing hardship discount on a per-case basis; available for businesses or individuals
