DeltaXML and Bluestream Partnership Announced

DITA topic merge from DeltaXML pushes XDocs CCMS release management to the next level

November 2016, Vancouver, Canada: Bluestream Database Software Corp—a provider of DITA-enabled Component Content Management System (CCMS) solutions—is pleased to announce a partnership with DeltaXML, a world leader in XML file comparison and change management.

DeltaXML’s products fill a void in the structured authoring world by allowing content creators to quickly and easily compare, merge, and manage the changes between well formed XML and DITA documents.  DITAMerge is now enhancing the functionality of Bluestream’s XDocs CCMS.

The XDocs CCMS leverages the power of DeltaXML’s 3-way suggestive merge to offer some of the most powerful and comprehensive release management capability currently available in the professional technical documentation market.

In technical documentation departments, numerous branches of documentation are often maintained for the purpose of multiple product releases. XDocs allows users to work independently on versions of topics on different branches. Often in this environment, there is a need to merge particular changes into subsequent or previous branches of documentation.  When faced with multiple revisions on topic versions across branches, the XDocs CCMS application via DITAMerge can easily show all the changes and potential conflicts, and a user can decide which changes to merge into a topic version on any branch.

“We are absolutely delighted to offer this kind of functionality to the DITA market and technical documentation space. Not only have we managed to deliver on the promised of superior release management, but we have managed to obscure the sophistication of this feature via some very clever UI that allows for a pleasant user experience.” Bluestream’s Nenad Furtula, VP Sales and Marketing.

Phill Barratt, VP Sales and Marketing at DeltaXML said, “The task of branching and merging content in order to provide release management capabilities for DITA has always been technologically challenging. It was great to work together with the team at Bluestream to solve this issue for their XDocs customers. By combining our individual areas of expertise, Bluestream’s customers now have an effective solution that is simple and intuitive to use within the XDocs environment.”
