Sybase is looking for Technical Publications Manager. This is a high profile, leadership and writing position for Sybase's mobility product. This is a senior position responsible for creating high-quality, usable technical documentation for our software products. Documentation includes developer, reference, and administration content as well as on-line help systems. Projects follow a rapid development cycle and involve geographically diverse teams. This role is 70% writing and 30% leadership. This is NOT a telecommuting position and will be onsite at Corporate HQ at Dublin, CA.

There has been some renewed discussion within the DITA Technical Committee on what it means to be "DITA conformant". It is timely that this topic has been resurrected, because many Help Authoring Tools are now claiming DITA support of some sort or another. A draft clause in the DITA 1.2 specification proposes that tools claiming DITA support must provide a conformance statement listing what DITA features they actually implement.
