DITA OASIS Standard

Use. Reuse. Specialize. Collaborate.
Modular content for an integrated world.

The Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) builds content reuse into the authoring process. DITA defines an XML architecture for designing, writing, managing, and publishing many kinds of information in print and on the Web.

The standard is advanced through an open process by the OASIS DITA Technical Committee, a group that encourages new participation from developers and users.

A DITA Newsletter and website - DITANews.com

DITA News is a new website that will offer a monthly newsletter, blog aggregation, and a press release mailing list service. It's at http://www.ditanews.com .   DITA News is modelled on two of my CMS (content management) efforts:
  • the CMS-PR mailing list, which I set up for a conference on open-source content management (OSCOM) that I helped organize at Harvard in 2003,
  • the CMS News website, which has been aggregating bloggers for years.  (http://www.CMS-News.org )
